Leon Newell Weight
December 11th, 1959 - May 7th, 2025
Leon Newell Weight, 65, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 7, 2025, at Idaho Falls Community Hospital. He was under the care of Solace Hospice.
Leon was born December 11, 1959, in Great Falls, Montana, to Brent Nelson Weight and Fay Mary Weight. He grew up and attended schools in Fairfield, Montana and graduated from Fairfield High School.
After High School, he served a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and truly loved it. He would share stories about it throughout his life.
He loved working on cars, training horses, photography, and serving in different church callings throughout his life. He was always ready and willing to help serve whoever needed his help.
Leon is survived by his wife, Debbie Weight of Idaho Falls, ID; his two beautiful daughters, Danielle (Max) Bialick and Briana (Ryan)Hesse; granddaughter Ada; siblings, Larry (Jolene )Weight, William (Shirley) Weight, Reta (Paul)Brown, Mary (Ken) Elder, Nola(Lyle) Schofield, Kent(Marilyn)Weight, Becky(Dave) Deleeuw.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Brent and Fay Weight ;and his sister, Nina.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2025, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at the Taylor Cemetery.
