Loretta Jean Stamper

March 3rd, 1939 - April 29th, 2024









Loretta Jean Dodge Stamper gained her angel wings on April 29, 2024, in Roberts, Idaho.

Loretta was born on a cold day on March 3, 1939. She was the sixth child of Rachel and Keith Dodge, in Ucon, Idaho. She had 5 older siblings-Marvin, Mary, Frank, Herbert and Delores.

She married Vernon Stamper in June of 1961.

She leaves behind her husband Vern of Roberts, Idaho, sons David (Judy) of Roberts-Wayne, Jennifer, Sara, and Eric- 6 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter. Richard (Diane) of Idaho Falls-Bill, Bob, Christina, and Amanda-5 grandchildren, and 1 great granddaughter. Many nieces and nephews.

Her family was her pride and joy, she loved each one dearly. She loved camping with them. Having them for dinner and holidays.

She was a hard worker all of her life. Along with her sisters they herded cattle out on the desert, picked potatoes, waitressed, cooked, worked in different spud houses, and during the summers she, Vern and the boys spent time in Island Park logging. In 1973 she completed her study as a hairdresser, She then went to work at Broulim’s Grocery store until she retired.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, and all of her siblings. She and Delores debated who would be the last one to shut the family lights out. Loretta lost and she shut the lights out.
