Lynn Alan Dean, 80, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025, at his home.

Lynn was born on July 10, 1944, to Albert Dean and Mary Alice Graham Dean in Scott City, Kansas. He grew up on a farm near Shallow Water, Kansas. He attended Scott Community High School and graduated in 1962. He furthered his education by receiving his BS in Math from Kansas State University and an MS in Computer Science from the University of Idaho.

On September 10, 1965, he married Jean Louise Cupp in Scott City, Kansas. They made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where he worked at the INEL for 37 years.

Lynn was a frequent blood donor to the American Red Cross and received the 8-gallon pin for his generous donations. He enjoyed bowling and has been bowling with the same friends for close to 50 years. He also enjoyed watching any and all sports. He loved spending time with his family, especially watching his grandsons play sports.

Lynn is survived by his wife, Jean Dean of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his sons: Michael Dean of Aurora, Colorado, and James (Jill) Dean of Redmond, Washington; his sister, Carol (Jerry) Davey of Amarillo, Texas; and four grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mary Alice Dean.
