Mary Smith Forman
June 13th, 1950 - July 16th, 2025
Mary Catherine Forman, 75, of Iona, passed away July 16, 2025, at her home. She was under the care of her family and Solace Hospice.
Mary was born June 13, 1950, in Deadwood, South Dakota, to Kenneth John Moriarty and Cecilia Ahleen Thurston Moriarty. She grew up in Idaho Falls, and attended Holy Rosary Catholic School and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. She also attended Steven Henager College in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mary had a very successful career as an accountant & was a part owner of Homestead Construction.
On June 20, 1968, she married Lorenzo Delbert Smith, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They had three sons, Patrick Todd, Christopher and Charles. Charles passed away October 27, 2007, & Lorenzo passed away April 7, 2012.
On June 27, 2014, she married Jerry Lynn Forman in Idaho Falls. Mary and Jerry made their home in Iona, Idaho. They spent their winters as snowbirds in Yuma, Arizona.
She was a member of the Catholic Church, and Zonta. She enjoyed spending time at her cabin in Island Park, crafting, outdoor activities and enjoyed any time she got to spend with her family and friends.
Mary is survived by her husband, Jerry Lynn Forman of Iona, ID; son, Patrick Todd (Kimberli) Smith of Island Park, ID; son, Christopher Shawn (Chyanne) Smith of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Thomas (Katherine) Moriarty of Island Park, ID; brother, Kevin (Michelle) Moriarty of Boise, ID; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Cecila Moriarty; brother, Daniel Joseph Moriarty; son, Charles John Smith; first husband, Lorenzo Delbert Smith; and brother, Michael Myrth Moriarty.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 1:00-1:45 pm prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ucon Cemetery.
