Norman Glen Allen, 93, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at his home in Howe, Idaho.

He was born on June 26, 1931, in Brooklyn, Missouri, to Glendle V. and Beulah M. Baker Allen. Norm, as he was known by his family and friends, was raised in Ridgeway, Missouri. At age 14 he moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, to be with his parents and finish his schooling.

During the Korean Conflict, Norm served his country in the United States Army. He was stationed in Japan and Korea during his enlistment before receiving an honorable discharge.

On February 21, 1953, he married Betty Darlene Johnson, in Elko, Nevada. They made their home in Twin Falls, Idaho where Norm learned the skill of a sheet metal worker. They eventually moved to Howe, Idaho and had four children: Scott, Brent, Glenda and Todd.

Norm worked at the INL as a sheet metal worker as well as attending to his farming needs. Later in life he and Betty enjoyed traveling with family and friends. He also enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Howe Lions Club and 35th Station Hospital Alumni Association.

Surviving are his children, Scott Allen (Darla), Brent Allen, Glenda Pope (Kent) and Todd Allen (Joel); numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great – great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Allen; his parents, Glendle and Beulah Allen; three brothers, Raymond Allen, Robert Allen and Eugene Allen.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Howe Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Arco, ID
