Phyllis Rae Stoddard
January 8th, 1937 - September 12th, 2022
Phyllis Rae Lake Stoddard was born January 8, 1937 to Phillip Ray Lake and Myrle Walton in Alpine, Wyoming. She passed away peacefully September 12, 2022 at the age of 85 and was under the care of Inspiration Hospice at St. Joseph’s Villa in Salt Lake City.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Phyllis received her honorary 1955 high school diploma from Idaho Falls High School when she turned 84, a very kind gesture of the district 91 superintendent.
She earned her cosmetology credentials from the Vogue Beauty Salon in Idaho Falls in 1962.
She had a quick wit and was always elegant in her appearance.
Phyllis is survived by her three children and four sisters: Roxy Bybee of Salt Lake City, Utah; Ruby Weaver of Meridian, Idaho; Peggy Chrisman of Boise, Idaho; Cleone Wilde of Sandy, Utah. She has four grandchildren: Chelsey (Josh), Mitchell of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Lindsey (Cliff) Laudato of Sacramento, California; Paul Stoddard of Holladay, Utah; and Brandon (Joanna ) Stoddard of Las Vegas, Nevada. She also has four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Geraldine Astle, Jean Durke, and brother Michael Brody.
A private graveside memorial for the family was held on Friday, September 23, 2022 at the Larkin facility.
