Raymond Allen Pressburg
September 28th, 1938 - September 20th, 2026
Raymond (Ray) A. Pressburg, 87, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away on September 20, 2026, at MorningStar Senior Living, surrounded by his daughter and his extended MorningStar family.
He was born September 28, 1938, in Los Angeles, California, to Robert Pressburg and June Schoonover. He attended Venice High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1954, serving his country with pride for more than 26 years, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California. During his military service, he specialized in missiles and defense.
Ray went on to work for Lockheed Martin for 25 years, retiring as a Chief Quality Assurance Engineer. He later collaborated with Stanford University and NASA, applying his extensive quality assurance expertise in missiles, defense, and space programs to a career few can match. Still, one of his favorite jobs was with the Colorado Rockies, which gave him the chance to meet some of his favorite baseball players and add to his sports memorabilia collection. Throughout his career, he received numerous awards, commendations, and recognition for his service and expertise. Ray was married to Patricia Jean (Schaefer) Pressburg for nearly 60 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Jean Pressburg; his parents, Robert Pressburg and June Schoonover; and his sisters: Elizabeth Pressburg and Shirley Pressburg.
He is survived by his daughter, Kim Roberts, and her husband, Ryan Gaudreau, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his son, Kelly Pressburg, of Starke, Florida; grandchildren: Justin Roberts and Taylor Roberts, both of Firth, Idaho, Jordan Roberts of Lakewood, Colorado, and Brandon Pressburg and Brian Pressburg, both of Starke, Florida; and four great-grandchildren.
He will be deeply missed by his family.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on October 6, 2026, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. Military honors will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans team and the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.
