Rebecca Rose

June 23rd, 1946 - March 1st, 2024

Rebecca (Becky) Rose, 77, passed away peacefully at her home on March 1, 2024. Becky was born on June 23, 1946 to Joyce Kilmer and Beth Rowley Culbertson, the second of six children. She met her eternal companion, Gary Lee Rose at church in the ninth grade and they became high school sweethearts. They were married in the Salt Lake City Temple on August 31, 1964. Becky and Gary had three daughters, LeeAnn, Wendy, and Karen.

She was a friend to everyone from the moment they met. She had a special place in her heart for the friendless and made sure that they felt loved and included. Until her final days she put others’ needs before her own.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many positions, including Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary, but her favorite callings were when she was involved with the music. She was committed to humanitarian service and sewed countless projects to be donated to the less fortunate. Her faith, resilience, spirit, kindness, and never-ending pursuit of happiness was truly inspirational.

For most of her life she fought with terrible arthritic pain, but she never complained about it or let it stop her from helping others and serving her family.

Becky was an excellent seamstress. She made clothes for herself and her daughters. She loved making quilts and giving them away. Every child, grandchild, niece, nephew, and friend have a beautiful piece of her work as a remembrance.

She is survived by her husband, Gary of Menan, daughter LeeAnn (Todd) Summers of Ammon, Karen (Duane) Taylor of Menan, sisters Cathy (Loron) Marler, Lori (Alan) Chadwick, Cris (Randy) Higgs, Betsy (Lloyd) Kluesner, and brother Richard (Catherine) Culbertson, seven grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Wendy Sue Rose.

Becky would want her family to thank the many friends who have visited, brought meals, and provided other service in her last weeks. We are grateful to the kind and caring staff at Advanced Home Health and Solace Hospice, especially nurses Ashley, Stacey, Anna, and Bobbi, and Dr. Bryan Hammar who became a loved friend as well as caregiver.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Eckersell Funeral Home. Services will be held on March 6, 2024 at 11:00 am in the Menan Stake Center, 698 N 3600 E Menan, ID. The family will meet with friends on March 5, 2024 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Eckersell Funeral Home in Rigby, ID and from 9:30 to 10:45 am, prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery. Condolences may be shared at www.eckersellfuneralhome.com.
