Obituary
Renee Heward
June 19th, 1944 - November 8th, 2025
Renee M. Wilson Heward, 81, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025, in Farmington, Utah.
She was born on June 19, 1944, in Burbank, California, to Fred J. and Nina M. Wilson. Renee graduated from John Burroughs High School in 1962. While her brother was serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, he introduced her to a young farm boy from Ashton, Idaho, named Nolan Heward. The two fell in love and were married on September 22, 1962, in Burbank, California. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles LDS Temple on December 14, 1968. They shared 45 wonderful years together.
Renee began her professional career at the Ashton Herald newspaper before joining Fall River Rural Electric, where she worked for nearly 30 years. During her time there, she traveled extensively, served on a national cooperative board, and earned certification as an Executive Secretary.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Renee served faithfully in many callings. From 2009 to 2011, she served a full-time mission in the Illinois Chicago Mission, followed by a service mission at the Church Communications Center in 2013.
After her mission, Renee moved to Farmington, Utah, where she continued to live life with purpose and joy. She loved traveling, attending the theater, serving in the temple, sewing, working on family history, and making new friends wherever she went. A California girl at heart, she also cherished every opportunity to visit the ocean, where she found peace and happiness.
Renee is survived by her children, Kathleen Hafen of Farmington, Utah; Liz (Nate) Spencer of Farmington, Utah; Joe (Danice) Heward of Thayne, Wyoming; and John “Charlie” Heward (Judy) of Virginia Beach, Virginia. She is also survived by her brother, Fred L. Wilson of Lancaster, California; her sister, Marcia (Prentiss) Knowlton of Westlake, California; 12 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
She will be remembered for her faith, kindness, and devotion to her family and friends — a life well-lived and a legacy of love.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 15, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Marysville Ward Chapel, 1313 North 3600 East, in Ashton. Burial will follow in the Pineview Cemetery under the direction of Baxter Funeral Home.
