Ricky Kerwin Prophet, 67, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, at the home of his mother, surrounded by loved ones.

He was born on March 27, 1958, in Glendale, California, to Richard and Aura-Lee Prophet. In 1959, the family moved to Idaho, where Ricky would put down deep roots and live the rest of his life.

A veteran, Ricky served his country immediately after high school. After his service he further dedicated 35 years to the State of Idaho, Department of Transportation before retiring.

A true outdoorsman at heart, Ricky loved the Idaho wilderness and spent most of his free time enjoying it. His adventurous spirit was evident in his passion for riding his Harley-Davidson, conquering trails on his dirt bikes, and exploring on his mountain bike. His determination and love for the outdoors were so strong that he continued these activities even after his cancer diagnosis in 2023, inspiring all who knew him.

Ricky is survived by his mother, Aura-Lee Pickerill of Idaho Falls; his sister, Annette Prophet-Rehn (John) of Yuma, Arizona; his daughter, Grace Charboneau of Idaho Falls, who provided endless assistance and care to the end; his granddaughter, Hannah Prophet of Salem, Virginia; and his nephew, Brian Danielson of Idaho Falls, who was like a son to him and provided compassionate care in his final days. He is also survived by several other cherished nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Prophet, and his brother, Joseph Prophet.

In accordance with his wishes, no formal services will be held. His family will honor his memory privately, remembering his free spirit and his love for the Idaho outdoors.

The family extends special gratitude to the devoted Solace Hospice team—Anna, Stacie, Katie, and others—whose kindness and professionalism brought comfort in Rick’s final days. And a special thank you to the caregivers from Cornerstone Caregiving, Shelby and Ally, for their exceptional compassion and support.
