Robert Antone Braga

May 1st, 1958 - March 22nd, 2024

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Robert Antone Braga, 65, of Arco, Idaho. Rob moved on from this life after a short illness March 22, 2024 at Idaho Falls Community Hospital. Robert was special in the lives of all who knew him and his absence will be deeply missed.

He was born on May 1, 1958, in Idaho Falls to Robert Wayne Braga and Valerie Lee Theall. Robert, either known as Rob or Robbie, was a man who always liked to crack jokes. Usually doing it in either a Scottish or Australian accent to boot! He enjoyed traveling and visiting historical sights. In addition to traveling his passions involved most anything outdoors to include skiing, snowmobiling, motorcycles, hunting and especially fishing in the Salmon River.

Starting his working history as a logger in California, he soon found his way back to Idaho and after attending Idaho State University started his career at the INEL. He started as an operator and moved on to supervisory and management positions in his nearly 40 years at the site.

He is survived by his son, Bryan (Angie) Braga; Sister; Lonnie (Bill) Vaughan; Granddaughters, Sarah Braga and Madison (Gavin) Bradley; Grandson, Brendan Braga; Great-Grandson, Colter Bradley. Extended family Tyler Lane, Brittanie Richardson and their children.

He was preceded in death by his partner Marlee Lane, both parents and his brother Kris Dean Braga.

As Robert always had the mindset of saying “right on” to everything in life, he would want us to remember all of the good times, not the bad. A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 1:00pm at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Arco, Idaho. A celebration of life will occur for all that knew or loved him to follow when it warms up a bit.
