Robert Gene Cordingley

April 4th, 1938 - April 15th, 2024

Robert Gene Cordingley transferred his residence to the Spirit World on April 15, 2024. Bob was diagnosed with bone cancer, now no more misery, pain and suffering.

Bob was born April 4, 1938, in Rexburg, Idaho, a son of Donald Elisha Cordingley and Helen Elizabeth Wilcomb Cordingley, making him 86 years old. He was raised in Island Park and Ashton, graduating from North Fremont High School.

Bob went on to serve 8 years in the Army Reserves. He served a mission to the Central Atlantic States for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bob attended Ricks College where he met and married Arlene Spencer in the Idaho Falls Temple on August 29, 1963. He graduated from Idaho State University with a degree in Biology and minoring in Education.

He worked for the Idaho Fish and Game Department for more than 10 years and then returned to his real love, farming. He resided on the farm for the past 47 years, living the farm life. In later years it was with the help from grandsons, Jayden, Bracken and Payten that he could continue to do that.

Bob served on the Jefferson County Farm Bureau Board for nearly 30 years. He was a temple ordinance worker. He spent 9 years teaching Special Education at the Elementary Schools. After teaching he went on to work for his son Syd, selling trailers at Hitch and Go. Never did he think to retire.

Bob is survived by his wife Arlene of Grant, daughter, Bobbie (Sean) Benedict of Roswell, New Mexico, son, Syd (Mitzi) Cordingley of Rigby, daughter Angie (Mike) Radford of Idaho Falls, daughter Kim (Jared) Daw of Grant, son Kyle (Kaylynn) Cordingley of Grant. He was greatly blessed with 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death is a daughter Deena, Grandson Reagen, his parents and his only sibling, Reinita.
