Robert Green

February 11th, 1929 - July 28th, 2023

Our loved and cherished father, Robert Clark Green, 94, rejoined our Father in Heaven on Friday, July 28, 2023, in North Logan, Utah, in the home of Mont and Lauri Robinson. Robert married his college sweetheart, Lorna Lu Brown, in the Idaho Falls LDS temple on October 23, 1952. She preceded him in death, and after nearly six years of separation, they are joyfully reunited.

Robert was born in Pocatello, Idaho, to Daniel Clark Green and Annie May Grover Green on February 11, 1929. A lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served a full-time mission to the New England States Mission from 1950-1952, ministering primarily in Maine. After his mission, he returned to Pocatello, married his “sweet Lorna” and earned a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Idaho State University. Upon graduation, mom and dad relocated to Idaho Falls, Idaho, where they purchased their first home. Dad worked in several area pharmacies including Fogg Drug, Grand Central, Skyline Drug, and Kmart.

These goodly parents of ours brought six children into this world: Carol Ann Green, who predeceased him; Robert Earl (and Nicole) Green of Farmington, Utah; David Clark (and Karen) Green of Shelby Township, Michigan; John Richard (and Julie) Green of St. George, Utah; Jean Lorette (and Lance) Reese of Clermont, Florida; Lauri Jo (and Mont) Robinson of North Logan, Utah. Survivors include: a brother, Bruce Green of Salt Lake City, Utah; a sister, Jeanne Green Sherman of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, and Robert and Lorna’s beloved cat Mitzi of Clermont, FL. Those who preceded him in death include his treasured wife Lorna, his daughter Carol, his parents Clark and Annie, his sister Alice Lenore Wood, and two brothers, Dean Milton Green, and Richard Alvaro Green.

Our father Robert was a kind and generous man who loved his family and was a dedicated provider. As a young father with a great passion for the outdoors, Dad spent countless weekends camping in Yellowstone National Park, where he and mom had honeymooned, introducing the art of camping and fishing to his children. Mom and Dad’s love of the park endured throughout their lives, and as long as mom lived, Dad drove her to Yellowstone at least once a year.

Ever a lover of aviation, Dad enjoyed reading about aircraft, watching the Blue Angels, building radio-controlled airplanes, and taking his children and grandchildren to the flying field to watch him fly. This legacy resulted in not only innumerable memories for the family, but also two grandchildren becoming pilots.

Dad’s love of the gospel of Jesus Christ was always evident in his continuous efforts to share his faith and testimony with those around him, making this a priority in his life as well as the lives of his family. Many were touched by his kind and generous heart. We trust his care into the hands of our good Lord.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Humane Society in honor of Robert and Lorna’s many beloved cats.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at the Idaho Falls West Stake Center, 2040 Brentwood Drive, Idaho Falls, Idaho, with Bishop Robert G. Neibert officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.

Condolences can be sent to the family at www.woodfuneralhome.com.
