Ruby Elizabeth Klein Bowersox returned peacefully to her heavenly home on May 1, 2025, in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
She was born in Wilford, Idaho on September 22, 1928, to John and Katie Hetze Klein. She was the last surviving member of her family. Ruby grew up on the family farm, learning the value of hard work.
She graduated high school in 1946, from Sugar Salem and worked after graduation in St. Anthony, for Dr. Soule, the local optometrist.
She was married November 20, 1954, to William M. Bowersox. She loved being a farmer’s wife. Together they had four children. Debra (Ned) Smith of Idaho Falls; Dixie Marudas of Berthoud, Colorado; Bill (Sandi) Bowersox, and Brett (Sara) Bowersox, all of Ashton, Idaho.
She enjoyed gardening and tending to her yard and flowers. She always had plenty of preserved food and canned goods from her garden on her shelves.
She was a member of the Ashton Community United Methodist Church, a 50+ year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and 50+ member of the PEO Sisterhood, Chapter AS.
Ruby is survived by her four children, eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Joan Klein of Nampa and Joyce Klein of Teton City; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; six brothers, Alfred, Harry, Edward, Elmer, Raymond, Harvey; her sister, Lydia Hughes; son-in-law, Dave Marudas, and her parents.
