Sarah Helen Bentley

Sarah Helen Bentley, “Zhu Ying Ying” 14 years old, passed away August 28, 2026, at her home.

Sarah was born July 20, 2012, in Zhumadian, China. She was adopted in 2014, at age two, by Rick and Marisa Bentley. Sarah is the seventh child and made our family complete. She attended Alturas Academy and was loved by her teachers and students alike.

Sarah was a delight and the light of every room she entered. Her unmatched laugh, sense of humor, hugs that lasted for days, intelligence, spunk and style has left an indelible mark on those that loved her. Sarah’s passions included drawing, pacing, astronomy, paleontology, architecture, camping, dancing with her Idaho Ballet Theatre Family and Swedish pancakes. Sarah deeply loved her friends, family, and dogs. To know her was to love her and life is a little less colorful without her.

Sarah is survived by her parents, Rick and Marisa Bentley; her sisters, Cora, Lydia and Kate Bentley; brothers, Lincoln, Brigham and John Bentley; and her grandparents, Jeff and Kathy Thompson and Toney and Wendy Bentley as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her cousin, Hayes Tate.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge. The family will visit with friends Monday from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Wood Funeral Home and Tuesday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
