Scott Duane McBride

Scott Duane McBride was born on February 6, 1959, in Bakersfield, California. He passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer in Mackay, Idaho.

He grew up in Davis County, Utah, where he graduated from Viewmont High School. His favorite times growing up were hunting in local fields and his grandfather’s farm in Rupert, Idaho.

Scott had a distinguished career as a police officer in Utah where he worked for 30 years. His accomplishments included SWAT, major crimes, and motor squad. His favorite job was retirement which he was enjoying in Mackay.

Scott is survived by his loving wife, Brooke. He is also survived by his four children, Megan, Katherine, Taylor, McKenzie and his four grandchildren, Kolby, Kinlee, Madelyn and Stevie.

Scott had a passion for the outdoors. Often you would find him doing projects on his property in Mackay, Idaho. If he was not working on projects, he would be on his boat fishing or on his ATV exploring the countryside. He was looking forward to this year’s goose hunt.

Scott’s kindness, generosity, and sense of humor touched everyone who knew him. His friends remember him as a man of great integrity and warmth. Anecdotes from loved ones capture his love for life and the positive impact he had on those around him.

In keeping with Scott’s request, a celebration of life service will be held later this summer in Mackay, Idaho. Cremation services are under the care of the Anderson Family Funeral Home.
