Shawn David Tucker was born on December 7, 1977 in Pocatello Idaho. He was a man who lived life to the fullest, loved his family, and always craved outdoor adventures. On February 16, 2020 Shawn suffered a Grand Mal seizure that caused his heart to stop. Tragically, Shawn’s brain was without oxygen for 40 minutes. Paramedics took him to Port Neuff Hospital in Pocatello, Idaho where he was put on life support. Shawn passed away at 9:10pm on February 22, 2020.
He is survived by his two sons, Jack Rocky Tucker (13), and Roman James Tucker (8), his wife, April (Steele) Tucker, his mother, Debbie Reynolds, his sister, Shelby Smith, and mother to his two sons, Lisa Woodruff.
Shawn was always a happy, loving, hard-working child who excelled in sports. At 8-years-old Shawn had his own paper route, at 10-years-old he achieved a black belt in Taekwondo and at the age of 12 Shawn received his Eagle Scout Award. In 1995 Shawn graduated from high school in Rigby, Idaho. He then enrolled at the Utah State University in Logan and joined the Sigma Nu fraternity. It was there he met Jon Percy who would become his best friend. At the end of Shawn’s sophomore year, he met Lisa Woodruff, whom he would marry in 2002. Shawn graduated with a degree in Business Information Systems in 1999. He began his professional career at Staker Parson Companies in Ogden, Utah where he became a highly valued member of the company. Shawn and Lisa purchased a home in Eden, Utah in 2005 after falling in love with the area. They welcomed their first son, Jack Rocky Tucker on 11/15/2006, and their second, Roman James Tucker arrived on 7/13/11. In 2013, Shawn started his own business, Allezei, LLC, utilizing his expertise in Business Intelligence, which allowed him to enjoy flexible work hours to allow for more time with his family. In addition to his successful company, Shawn worked simultaneously as one of the top Senior consultants for Viewpoint/Vista with implementation and integration.
Shawn was remarried to April Steele from Pocatello in 2018 and was able to split his time between Pocatello and Eden in order to maintain a strong bond with his boys, who were of the utmost importance to him.
Shawn’s sister Shelby described him best:
My brother.
My best buddy.
This human being wasn’t just another man walking this planet.
He was a man of honor.
He was a man who listened.
He was a man who knew how you were feeling immediately upon answering his phone call.
He was a man who sought to understand the meaning of life, his purpose and his passion.
He was a man with integrity and was highly trusted and adored.
Shawn was driven, highly intelligent and extremely creative. Once he set his intention, the universe would collaborate to make it happen.
He had a huge heart and loved big. There are countless stories of Shawn offering his time and talents to lift those around him.
He adored the outdoors, and there was rarely a moment captured in Mother Nature where he didn’t have a smile on his face.
He was an incredible father, and his love, his childlike nature, fun and witty comments and curious mind made him a hero in the eyes of his two boys.
He was his own boss, bringing success to himself and those he worked with.
He cherished moments with loved ones and created countless memories.
A moment in his presence was one filled with laughter, connection and a desire for more!
Shawn enjoyed sharing his favorite things with his favorite people. With a glimmer in his eye, he would offer tastes, samples, tries, experiences and more with the giddiness of a little boy.
He left a mark on the hearts of all whom he encountered. He will always be remembered, always missed and deeply loved. We are all changed by having loved Shawn.
