Obituary
Sid Jensen
June 17th, 1949 - February 1st, 2026
Sid Jensen of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Loma Del Mar, San Carlos, Mexico passed away at the home of his sister in San Carlos on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the age of 76. He was born June 17, 1949, in Logan, Utah.
He was the second child born to Marriner and Eileen Hyer Jensen, with one older sister, three younger brothers and four younger sisters.
Sid grew up on a cattle ranch south of Montpelier, Idaho. He graduated from Bear Lake High School in 1967, and attended Utah State University, where he played freshman football. In 1968, he was called to serve a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Eastern Atlantic States. After returning in 1970, he enlisted in the Wyoming National Guard and served for six years. He later transferred to Brigham Young University and graduated in 1974, with a Bachelor of Science in Business.
In 1975, Sid married Joyce Jorgensen. They are the parents of four sons: Trent (Heather), Tyson (Carly), Alex, and Gavin (Janalee), and grandparents to ten beloved grandchildren. They were later divorced.
Sid loved dreaming up adventures with his boys. They sailed, camped, hunted, flew his plane, rode four wheelers, snow skied, and fished. He was proud of all they accomplished as they grew.
He was an active member of his Church and served in many callings throughout his life. His favorite calling was teaching youth and children, and he taught his final class just hours before he passed away.
His professional career was spent in agriculture, serving farmers in the Idaho Falls area and later building fertilizer plants throughout Southeastern Idaho. He was well liked and enjoyed helping others improve their business.
In 1978, while building his log home on the Snake River, Sid was involved in a sawmill accident in Ashton, Idaho, that cost him his right arm. He never complained, and continued to ride motorcycles, fly his airplane, ride horses, hunt, fish, and live fully with determination and grit.
He enjoyed racquetball and later became a fierce pickleball competitor, playing several days a week up until the day before he passed away.
In 2020, Sid married Lenore Clawson Gerber. Together they shared wonderful years with their blended family, spending winters in Mexico hosting friends and summers in Idaho Falls gardening, canning, and sharing their harvest with family.
