Obituary
Tina Stauffer
March 5th, 1966 - December 10th, 2025
Tina Jill Stauffer, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Idaho Falls on December 10, 2025, surrounded by those she loved most. She was born on March 5, 1966, in Kingsville, Texas, to Sherill Christina Oswald and Alvis Velton Tucker.
On July 9, 1982, Tina married her soulmate, Jack “John” David Stauffer, in Idaho Falls. Together, they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and family — a life that touched everyone around them.
Tina was a woman of many talents and passions. She was a gifted florist who had a remarkable eye for beauty and detail, often creating stunning arrangements for weddings and special occasions through her small business. Her love for crafting was evident in the quilts, stockings, and handmade treasures she lovingly created for her grandchildren — each piece being a symbol of her devotion and creativity. Tina also enjoyed genealogy and took great pride in exploring her family’s history.
She found pure joy in music — especially country — and was a proud member of “The Church Choir,” the devoted fan base of Eric Church, whom she adored. Tina never missed a chance to attend a country concert, often going with her kids and grandkids to share the experience. She wasn’t one to sit in the back — she was a front-row, pit-style kind of girl, soaking in every moment with energy and excitement.
Family was Tina’s heart. She loved spending time outdoors with them — fishing, hunting, and camping were favorite traditions. One of the most cherished was the annual trip to Sublett Reservoir before Memorial Day, where generations gathered to celebrate, compete in playful award ceremonies, hike, fish, and make lifelong memories. Tina’s special meals and quiet creekside fishing trips were highlights of these treasured gatherings. Her nontraditional fishing style consisted of a toothbrush or stick with fishing line attached to it.
Her grandchildren were her greatest joy. Whether traveling to Boise for extended visits with Trinity, Izzy, Tilly, Brenner, and Elsie, or hosting sleepovers in Idaho Falls, Tina made every moment magical. Her home was a haven — filled with toys, clothes, treats, and love. She delighted in taking her grandkids on shopping dates, working on craft projects, and simply being present in their lives. Treyson, Tatum, and Huntley spent endless hours with her, making wonderful memories while their parents worked — moments filled with laughter, love, and the kind of joy only a grandma could give. Oakley was the baby, and Grandma would hold her even when her body would tell her not to.
Tina was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was known for her boundless generosity and thoughtfulness. She never hesitated to help someone in need, often arriving with food, medicine, and comfort. She celebrated others with enthusiasm, always putting their needs before her own. Her kindness was unwavering, and her love was limitless.
Tina is survived by her devoted husband, Jack Stauffer, and their three children, RachelAnn Christina Barnes (Mike) of Idaho Falls, ID, Tristan Shiree Stauffer Thompson (Nick) of Kuna, ID, and Jesse Eugene Stauffer and fiancée Chelsy Alldredge of Shelley, Idaho.
She was a proud grandmother to Treyson Barnes, Tatum Barnes, Trinity Thompson, Isabella Thompson, Tilly Thompson, Brenner Thompson, Elsie Thompson, Huntley Stauffer, and Oakley Stauffer.
She is also survived by her siblings, Tami Hendrickson (Dennis) of Ammon, ID, Shawn Sweeney (Cozette) of Ammon, ID, Jeff Sweeney (Andy) of Ammon, ID, Tina is further survived by her mother, Sherill Christina Oswald Newman, and stepfather, Delbert Densmore Newman, both of Ammon, ID.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alvis Velton Tucker; maternal grandparents, Christina Youngstrom Oswald and Bobbie Leroy Oswald; and paternal grandparents, Verna Mae Martin and Alvis Howard Tucker.
Tina will be remembered for her radiant spirit, her creative soul, and the unconditional love she gave to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy lives on in the family she adored and the memories she helped create — memories that will be cherished forever.
