Obituary
Todd Scott Belcher
December 31st, 1971 - January 31st, 2026
Todd Scott Belcher, 54, was born December 31, 1971, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Todd lived life with quiet courage, relentless perseverance, and a heart that never stopped caring — even when the weight of the world made it hard to keep going.
Todd’s journey was not an easy one, but through it all, he kept showing up. Again and again, he stood back up, proving that strength is not the absence of struggle, but the decision to keep trying.
Todd attended schools in Idaho Falls, Idaho, graduating from Skyline High School. He then attended Eastern Idaho Technology College in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where he earned an associate’s degree in Networking Technology. With his training and education, he built a successful career as an expert in network security. He was known for his sharp problem-solving skills.
Todd had a natural gift for troubleshooting even the most stubborn technical issues. His calm, methodical approach made him a colleague and friend who was trusted whenever technology refused to cooperate.
While Todd faced many struggles throughout his life, he never stopped fighting and refused to let them define him. His circle of close friends was small however his love for those who truly knew him was boundless. He never let go of the people he loved, and he had a way of making everyone around him feel seen, safe, and valued.
Todd was a man of quiet passions and joyful escapes — a lover of board games, video games, Dungeons & Dragons, and the thrill of beating his friends at poker. Around the table or behind a deck of cards, Todd was unassuming but fiercely competitive, his victories always punctuated by laughter and some well-timed Simpsons reference or a delightful, terrible pun. His humor was cheesy, his kindness effortless, and his humility sincere.
Those who knew Todd will remember him, not only for his wit and warmth, but for his example — that even in life’s darkest valleys, there is light in the act of simply trying again. Todd taught us that love doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful, that showing up matters more than winning, and that compassion, even in small moments, can be the difference between despair and hope.
Todd is survived by his three children, Kira Thompson (Eric), Jayden Belcher, and Elliah Belcher (Fiancé Michael); his mother Christine Christy (Bill), father Robert Berry Belcher (Karen). Todd had four brothers and one sister; Robert Belcher (Karol), Brian Belcher (Christy), Sean Belcher (Kris), Berry Belcher (Kari), and sister Traci Nettles (Willie); Aunt Joanne Gibson; Todd’s longtime partner Laura Ayre and her two children, Eli and Emma Ayre who loved him and viewed him as a father; as well as a myriad of friends who were as close as family.
We pray that each will carry a piece of Todd’s kindness, humor, and resilience as they move forward.
Todd is preceded in death by his biological mother, Kathleen; his grandparents, George and Patricia Peterson; and numerous aunts and uncles.
In honor of Todd’s memory and in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the organization Real Recovery Sober Living (6014 West Sitka Street, Tampa, FL 33634) in Todd Belcher’s name, which, through its programs, helped lift Todd up in his time of need.
Todd was deeply loved by all who knew him and will be profoundly missed.
A celebration of life for Todd will be held on Saturday, March 7th, 2026, beginning at 10am at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, located at 693 S. Belcher Road, Clearwater, FL 33764.
