Gordon Thomas “Tom” Hilleshiem, 78, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, returned home on April 1, 2023. He was born November 5, 1944, to Theora (Cooper) and Gordon Melbourne Hilleshiem.

Tom, the most loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather is survived by his wife, Ana Louise; son, Dayle Hilleshiem; daughters, Karrie (Brent) Martin, Angela Hilleshiem, Dayleen Hilleshiem; sisters, Lois Anderson and Jolene Summers; brother, Boyd Lindholm; grandsons, Morgan Martin, Nathan Martin, Blake Martin, Scott Hilleshiem, Tyson Hilleshiem; granddaughters, Brittany Hilleshiem, Brooklyn Browning, and Aliceann Hilleshiem; and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sharon Coyle.

Upon graduation from Bonneville High School, Tom joined the Army to serve his country. Tom met the love of his life, the woman who would stand by his side through thick and thin, Ana, in the summer of 1963 and they married in May 1964. Tom and Ana would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in May.

Tom was an incredibly talented person. He could build anything, fix anything, and there was not much he couldn’t invent to rectify any issue. He was a very genuine and loving person. Tom had the personality and natural charisma to make friends no matter the situation, and his blue eyes with his black hair would mesmerize all around him.

As a man of true integrity, Tom was well known for his service to others. There was not a neighbor or a friend to Tom that could not ask for his help with any kind of task and he was always up for the challenge. He served in the Lions Club for over 20 years, and he enjoyed the comradery and the service to others that he provided.

Tom was a truly great man whose impact, lessons, and talents will be forever cherished by his family that loves him dearly. His ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive, and love will be forever ingrained in all he knew. He was an active member of the LDS church, and he truly loved and enjoyed all the friendships that were cultured there.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2023, at the Iona Stake Center, 7555 North 55th East. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church.
