(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – A provision in the federal budget could mean protections on wolves will come to an end. A bipartisan group of lawmakers including Idaho Rep. Mike Simpson have sought to bypass a U.S. District judge’s ruling to protect the animals. Protections will remain intact in Wyoming, though other states including Idaho and Montana could allow wolf hunting this fall. Wildlife activists conceded Tuesday that the bill is likely to pass.
