Woman Arrested After Standoff in Victor

VICTOR – A Victor woman is undergoing a mental health evaluation after she allegedly attempted to provoke law enforcement officials in an attempted suicide-by-cop Sunday.

Authorities have not identified the woman, but said she had a background in law enforcement and tried to provoke a lethal response.

Police from multiple agencies were involved in the standoff, which ended when a Fremont County SWAT officer took the woman to the ground. Officials later found a handgun in the woman’s van.

No charges have been filed.
