(SALMON) – Salmon School District Superintendent Joey Foote was in Boise this week to make his case for building a new school.

KIDK reports Foote met before a three-member state panel to determine if money for the project could be used from the Cooperative Funding Program. Foote cited crumbling buildings that pose a safety hazard to students, especially during heavy snowstorms.

Salmon voters have rejected seven bonds attempting to fund a new building.

The panel will continue to examine Foote’s case and make a decision by mid-February.
