Georgia Quarterback Aaron Murray Tears ACL, College Career Over
Published at(ATHENS, Ga.) — Aaron Murray’s college career is over as the Georgia quarterback tore his ACL during the team’s 59-17 win over Kentucky.
Murray will miss the remainder of his senior season at Georgia, ending his four-year run as the team’s starting quarterback.
“Thank you for all the prayers over the past few hours. Gonna come back stronger than ever! Dawg for life. Truly love you all #GoDawgs,” Murray Tweeted after the game.
Junior Huston Mason will take over at quarterback for the Bulldogs.
Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo said, “I think the whole team is confident in him. He’s been preparing for four weeks now for this moment. His moment’s just come a little earlier than we thought it might. I know he’s ready and I know everybody believes in him.”
During his time at Georgia, Murray threw for 13,166 yards and 121 touchdowns; both are SEC records.
