House Rejects Historical Horse Gaming Rules

(BOISE, ID) – The House State Affairs Committee has rejected proposed rules for instant gaming in Idaho. The Les Bois horse race track in Garden City uses machines that store thousands of past races that generate randomly on screens for betting. Lawmakers are concerned that people may skip to the end of races to accelerate the wagering process. Proponents of instant gaming say it generates additional tax revenue and revitalizes local economies.
