Masked LeBron Leads Heat to Beat Down of Knicks
Published at(MIAMI) — LeBron James put to rest any questions of whether or not wearing a mask to protect his broken nose would hinder his ability to play ball.
James had 31 points, four rebounds and four assists to lead the Miami Heat to a 108-82 drubbing of the New York Knicks Thursday.
James broke his nose during the team’s win over Oklahoma City last Thursday. The five-time league MVP didn’t play in the Heat’s win Sunday over Chicago, before making his return Thursday. He says he will now play with the mask on for at least the next couple of weeks.
“As much as I don’t like it, I have to figure out how to make it work,” said James.
Dwyane Wade added 23 points on 10-of-13 shooting for Miami (41-14), who now won nine of their last ten games.
Carmelo Anthony had 29 points and 7 rebounds for the Knicks (21-37), who have now dropped 10 of their last 12 games.
