Tied at 58 after regulation the Pirates and Wildcats traded points until Seton Hall freshman Khadeen Carrington drove for a crucial layup.  The Pirates would be up 62-61 when Carrington was fouled and he would hit both free throws. Sophomore Jaren Sina would also add a pair of free throw to seal the win 66-61.

“Anybody who loves the game wants the ball,” Carrington said. “I try to make big plays and that play they started cutting off my left, so I started spinning right and it was wide open.”

This is the second time this week that Seton Hall (12-2) has upset another member of the Big East.  The Pirates defeated No.15 St. Johns Wednesday 59-50.

Sterling Gibbs led the Pirates with 20 points, shooting 8 of 20 from the field and Desi Rodriguez dominated the boards with 11 rebounds.

“I’m so proud of this young group,” said Steon Hall head coach Kevin Willard. “They deserve this, they battled.”
