The Los Angeles County coroner’s office confirmed on Tuesday to ABC News that Glenn Steele, 62, died at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.

Steele had 42 years of experience driving trains, and had been on the job so long that he was at the top of Metrolink’s seniority list.

Steele was in the front of the train when it slammed into a truck on the tracks last week.

The truck driver who caused the crash is not facing any charges, but his attorney had said if any victims died his client could face misdemeanor manslaughter charges.
