Weekly Jobless Claims Nearly Unchanged
Published at(WASHINGTON) — Jobless claims were slightly higher last week, increasing by just 1,000, according to the latest figures released Thursday by the Labor Department.
For the week ending March 14, the number of people filing for benefits edged up to 291,000. The previous week, claims stood at a revised level of 290,000.
The Labor Department said there were no “special factors” impacting that week’s figures.
The four-week moving average also climbed higher by 2,250, to 304,750.
