Murray Breaks Record as Cowboys Beat Giants 31-21

Murray Breaks Record as Cowboys Beat Giants 31-21

NFL via Getty Images(DALLAS) -- DeMarco Murray continues to lead the charge as he rushed for his seventh straight 100-yard game.

In doing so, Murray broke Jim Brown's 56-year-old record of starting a season with six straight 100-yard games.

The Cowboys continue to showcase a balanced offense that they have lacked in recent years.

Tony Romo tossed three touchdowns on 279 yards passing, completing 17 of 23 passes. Second-year tight end Gavin Escobar reeled in two of Romo's touchdown passes. Dez Bryant is still a man on fire as he racked up 151 yards receiving.

After a scare in the second quarter in which Murray appeared to injure his ankle, he finished the day with 128 yards and one touchdown.

Eli Manning put forth a valiant effort but it would not be enough to outduel Dallas.  Manning threw for 248 yards and three touchdowns. Rookie receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. continues to live up to his first round draft status as he hauled in two of Manning's touchdowns.

The Dallas Cowboys are now at 6-1 and host the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football next week.

Cowboys Quiet 12th Man, Beat Seahawks, 30-23

Al Messerschmidt/Getty Images(SEATTLE) -- The Dallas Cowboys (5-1) knocked off the defending champion Seattle Seahawks (3-2) in front of the 12th man in Seattle on Sunday.

Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray's 15-yard rushing touchdown with 3:16 left in the fourth quarter gave his team a 26-23 lead and Dan Bailey's field goal late pushed the lead to seven, which set the stage for Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.

Wilson's last throw intended for Luke Wilson was picked off by Rolando McClain to put the Cowboys' win in the books.

Tony Romo passed for 250 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions and Murray rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown in the victory.

The Cowboys defense held Wilson and the Seahawks offense to 80 rushing yards, 126 passing yards, and a Wilson rushing touchdown.

Cowboys Cruise Past New Orleans

Cowboys Cruise Past New Orleans

Tom Pennington/Getty Images(ARLINGTON, Texas) -- Tony Romo threw for three touchdown passes while DeMarco Murray rushed for two more as the Dallas Cowboys dominated New Orleans, winning 38-17 on Sunday night. The Cowboys (3-1) led 24-0 at halftime and maintained their double-digit lead throughout.

"That was very important for us to see what kind of team we were going to be," said Romo who ended his day with 262 passing yards as well. "We kind of knew but it's nice to go against a team...that is still a really good football team."

Dallas began the scoring when Romo found Terrance Williams from six yards out in the first quarter. The two later connected with 19 seconds left in the half, upping the advantage to 24-0. While Romo was lighting it up in the air, Murray led a dominant rushing attack on the ground. The running back totalled 149 yards, his fourth 100-yard game of the year, as the Cowboys racked up 445 yards of total offense.

Meanwhile, the Saints (1-3) offense was held in check all night. Quarterback Drew Brees threw for 340 yards but was unable to lead a scoring drive until the third quarter when New Orleans settled for a Shayne Graham field goal. They would close the gap to 31-17, scoring two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, but Dallas' defense held strong and prevented any thought of a comeback.
