“My situation has not changed,” said Brown, the 16-year head coach. “I’d like to sit down with (Athletic Director Steve Patterson) and (Texas President) Bill (Powers) and in the near future and talk about where we are going and where our program is going.”

Rumors had been swirling around Brown since the beginning of the season regarding his job security. Despite the distractions, Brown led the Longhorns to an 8-4 overall record and a 7-2 mark in Big 12 play. There has also been speculation that if Brown leaves Texas, he could be replaced by Alabama head coach Nick Saban.

The Longhorns will play Oregon in the Valero Alamo Bowl on Dec., 30 in San Antonio.
