Trail Blazers Sign Chris Kaman
Published at(NEW YORK) — The Portland Trail Blazers added veteran center Chris Kaman to their roster on Friday. Kama and the Trail Blazers agreed to a two-year deal worth $9.8 million, reports ESPN.com.
Kaman averaged 10.4 points and 5.9 rebounds last season with the Lakers.
Kaman made the All-Star team in 2010 and will primarily be a backup to Robin Lopez, who averaged 11.1 points per game and 8.5 rebounds for Portland.
Kaman has spent 11 seasons in the NBA and will provide great veteran leadership to a young Trail Blazers roster.
The deal cannot become official until July 10 when the league-wide moratorium on signings ends.
