Yet that hasn’t stopped Clinton’s supporters from getting ready for a potential race. One year ago, the super political action committee Priorities USA Action announced it would pour its energies into electing her president.

Meanwhile, the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll makes Clinton the frontrunner favored by 61 percent of Democratic and Democratic-leaning independents who are registered to vote.

In contrast, Vice President Joe Biden came in at 14 percent. Elizabeth Warren, the freshman senator from Massachusetts, is at 13 percent.

Although 2014 wasn’t the best year for Clinton due to a couple of verbal gaffes in which she tried to downplay her wealth, Democratic National Committee Vice Chairwoman Donna Brazile says Clinton is still in the best position to win the White House in 2016 and “will start off 2015 knowing exactly where she’s going and, hopefully, inspiring others to follow her.

However, Kristen Soltis Anderson, a Republican pollster and columnist at The Daily Beast, says Clinton “won’t be able to sit on the sidelines of national controversies if she really gets into the race. And I think that will begin to erode some of that favorability that she has been able to build up.”
