The majority of the strikes — undertaken by fighter, remote-piloted and attack aircraft — in Syria were in Kobani, with continued activity in Iraq around the Al Assad airbase.

The Department of Defense says the strikes were carried out as part of Operation Inherent Resolve to “eliminate” the ISIS terrorist group and any threat they pose to the region and the wider international community.

“Coalition nations conducting airstrikes in Iraq include the U.S., Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Coalition Nations conducting airstrikes in Syria include the U.S., Bahrain, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates,” the Department of Defense said.
