(1) Kentucky Rolls Over Mississippi State, 28-0
Published at(STARKVILLE, Miss.) — Freshman Trey Lyles was Kentucky’s spark Wednesday night.
Lyles scored a career-high 18 points in Kentucky’s 74-56 win over Mississippi State, giving the Wildcats to a 28-0 record.
Head coach John Calipari claims the 6-foot-10-inch freshman hasn’t even come close to reaching his full potential.
“He should have had 25 points today, but I thought he played well,” Calipari said. “I still think at the end of the day he’ll be the ‘X’ factor for us.”
Kentucky’s 28-game win streak is the second-longest in school history, however it’s the longest in a single season for the program, topping the 27-game win streak by the 1995-96 team.
Kentucky will host No. 18 Arkansas on Saturday February 28th.
