IDAHO FALLS — The Technical Careers High School will host its annual College Tech Night tonight.

Bonneville Joint School District 93’s tech school has invited representatives from professional-technical departments at all area colleges to attend. About 20 different programs will be highlighted from Eastern Idaho Technical College, Idaho State University’s College of Technology and Brigham Young University-Idaho. U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force recruiters also will be on-hand at the event.

About 200 people are expected to attend the free event. Principal Craig Miller said the College Tech Night is different from other college recruitment efforts because the school invites professors and college students from the technical programs, rather than college recruiters.

“Our students are able to talk to the people who could be their potential teachers in a couple years and get a sense of what the programs are like and what they are getting into,” Miller said. “These guys know what the programs are really about, what the programs really cost and can give students a sense of the job prospects when they are done.”

College Tech Night is open to anyone who would like to attend, regardless of age. The event begins at 6 p.m. tonight (Feb. 26) until 8 p.m. inside the Technical Careers High School at 3609 North Ammon Road in Idaho Falls.

For information about the event contact the school at (208) 525-4433.
