Giants Agree to 1-Year Contract with McGehee
Published at(SAN FRANCISCO) — The San Francisco Giants have agreed to a one-year, $4.8 million contract with third baseman Casey McGehee. The deal allows the Giants to avoid arbitration with him.
McGehee joined the Giants in December, when he was traded by the Miami Marlins for two minor league pitchers.
Last season, McGehee played in 160 games, hitting .287 with four home runs, 76 RBIs, and a .355 on-base percentage. He helps fill the void created when Pablo Sandoval signed with the Boston Red Sox this offseason.
McGehee was the Giants’ last player in arbitration.
