House to Pass Keystone XL Pipeline Bill Next Week
Published at(WASHINGTON) — Republican leaders in Congress say they will now send the long-awaited Keystone XL Pipeline bill to the White House.
“Next week, we will take up the Keystone Pipeline as passed by the Senate and send it to the president’s desk,” House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy announced on Tuesday.
It would be the first piece of major legislation passed by the new Republican Congress — and the first to be rejected by the White House.
President Obama has pledged to veto the bill to build an oil pipeline from Canada to Mexico.
