Liveability.com
has already done the leg work for you by listing the best affordable places in the U.S. based on various metrics, including health care, food, housing, and transportation, and combining them with the website’s own criteria of what makes a city desirable.

Granted, there are cities that are cheaper, according to Liveability.com, but you may not want to live there.

As for where you might want to wind up, number one is Round Rock, Texas, a suburb of Austin, with living costs seven percent below the national average.
