District 93 board re-approves $56.1 million bond for May election

IDAHO FALLS — Board trustees in Bonneville Joint School District 93 approved a new plan to re-run its $56.1 million bond proposal in May.

On Wednesday night, trustees voted 4-1 to make a third attempt to secure funding to build a new high school. The new school is aimed at reducing increasing overcrowding problems in district high schools.

District 93 failed to secure bond funding during Tuesday’s election by less than one percent. Superintendent Chuck Shackett said despite Tuesday’s failure they don’t plan to make changes to the current plan.

Elections will be held May 19.
