One woman had been missing after her car was swept away by floodwaters in Lee County. Kentucky State Police Trooper Robert Purdy said on Saturday her body was found late Friday.

“As the floodwaters started receding, her vehicle was located and taken out of the creek and a female was found deceased inside,” Purdy told ABC News.

Earlier reports had suggested a child might have been in the car with her, but Purdy said on Saturday that was not the case.

One woman camper was killed when a tree fell on her tent in Natural Bridge State Park early Friday.

Heavy rain across the state since Thursday has left drivers stranded, and people trapped in their homes.

Firefighters continued to battle a seven-alarm fire at General Electric’s corporate campus in Lousiville on Saturday, which officials believe was sparked by lightning.
