US Marshals Investigating After Deputy Marshal Allegedly Destroyed Woman’s Camera for Videotaping Arrest

Credit: Geoff Brightling/Dorling Kindersley/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — The U.S. Marshals are investigating an incident that took place south of Los Angeles over the weekend in which a Deputy U.S. Marshal allegedly kicked a woman’s camera as she recorded an arrest being made.
The Marshal service provided a statement to ABC News on Tuesday saying that it is “aware of video footage of an incident that took place Sunday in Los Angeles County involving a Deputy U.S. Marshal.” The agency says it is reviewing the incident.
The woman whose camera was broken, Beatriz Paez, told ABC News that the Marshal stomped on my phone with his boots several times violently and then he kicked my phone.”
“I was terrified,” Paez added. “I thought he was going to beat me up.”
The incident was captured on video by another individual using their cell phone.
