Astros Promote Top Prospect Carlos Correa to Triple-A Fresno
Published at | Updated at(NEW YORK) — Houston Astros top prospect, shortstop Carlos Correa, was promoted to Triple-A Fresno.
Correa, 20, was the first overall pick of the 2012 amateur draft in 29 games with Double-A Corpus Christi. He hit .385 with seven home runs, 32 RBIs, 15 stolen bases, and a .459 on-base percentage this season.
“I’m going to go to Fresno to play good baseball and try to reach my goals and my dreams,” Correa said to the Houston Chronicle. “You work your entire life to get at some point to the big leagues. To get one step closer means a lot.”
Before the 2015 season began, ESPN’s Keith Law rated Correa as the No. 3 prospect in baseball.
