Parker was diagnosed with a fractured medial epicondyle in his pitching elbow, the same elbow that underwent the Tommy John Surgery. The severity of the injury isn’t quite known yet at this time.

Having undergone the procedure last March, Parker suffered the injury while throwing a pitch during his rehab start on Friday. He was about two weeks away from rejoining the Athletics starting rotation had he stayed healthy.

“#11 can do this! Thanks for all the (strength) and support … I’ll continue to need!” Parker tweeted on Saturday.

The 26-year-old Parker showed great promise during his two years in the starting rotation for the team. He’s gone 25-16 with a 3.68 ERA in 62 starts during his career.
