SP Mike Minor Has Season-Ending Shoulder Surgery
Published at | Updated at(ATLANTA) — Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Mike Minor underwent season-ending shoulder surgery.
The operation was done in Los Angeles on Wednesday to repair a slight tear in the labrum of Minor’s left shoulder. The team announced Thursday that the 27-year-old will miss the rest of the season.
Minor has been experiencing shoulder soreness since spring training and went on the disabled list on April 5. The youngster dealt with shoulder problems a few times last season, probably resulting in his poor stats which included a 4.77 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, and a 6-12 record through 25 starts.
Minor is expected to be ready for spring training.
The Braves have the option to allow Minor to become a free agent before next season.
