SALT LAKE CITY — Donations are pouring in from all over the world to a GoFundMe account set up for a 9-year-old Rigby boy who had a heart transplant earlier this week.

Nearly $3,500 was donated in less than 24 hours to the “Tayt’s Wish” account. The fund was set up by members of his family to support “the daily costs of Tayt,” according to the GoFundMe description.

Tayt Andersen received a new heart Tuesday night at Primary Children’s Medical Center. His family says he is recovering and his heart is “beautiful.”

According to posts on the Tayt’s Wish Facebook page, Tayt is off bypass and doctors said he did great during the operation.

“He swam through the surgery like no big deal:),” Tayt’s mother, Chrissy Andersen wrote. “He is off bypass. Heart is beautiful. Dr. Malina said he took it great. He is now in CICU. Tayt did awesome.”

Tayt and his mother learned a heart was available Tuesday morning and within hours they were on their way to Salt Lake City.
