REXBURG — Host families are still needed to house foreign dancers for the Idaho International Summerfest.

The event, formerly known as the International Dance Festival, continues in Rexburg on Monday with the street festival, parade, and dance on Main Street in Rexburg.

Dance teams from around the world come to eastern Idaho to thrill audiences with their national and folk dances from nations like China, Mexico, Israel and everywhere in between. In order to defray the costs, host families house the dance groups for the week offering a bedroom and a couple of meals. Dancers will be arriving Thursday and Friday, and three host families are still needed.

Anyone interested in being a host family please call the Rexburg Chamber of Commerce at (208) 356-5700 or Donna Benfield at (208) 403-2101.

The street festival will begin at 5pm on Main Street and will include booths sponsored by local businesses. These booths may include crafts, games, arts, clothing, music, entertainment, and food. The parade, with Grand Marshals Dale Winn and Bryan Orr, will begin at 6:30p.m.

The street dance will begin at 9p.m. A variety of performers will be present during the street dance.
