RICHMOND, Utah (KSL) — A 50-year-old Franklin man was treated at a Logan hospital Saturday after his car, which was being towed by a van, was hit broadside by a cement truck carrying a full load, according to KSL.com.

The Utah Highway Patrol says Steven Bassett was behind the wheel in his sedan, which was being pulled by a van driven by Debra Leishman, 43, of Wellsville, Utah, shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday.

KSL.com reports the two vehicles stopped at a stop sign then attempted to make a left turn. Bassett’s car was hit by the northbound cement truck, striking the driver’s side of the vehicle, spilling cement onto the car and roadway. The intersection was blocked nearly an hour while rescuers extricated Bassett from his car and removed cement from the road.

Neither Leishman nor the cement truck driver, Kyle Jordan, 48, of Preston, Idaho, were injured, Perry said.
