UPDATE: Search called off for plane that crashed in Bonneville County

UPDATE (7:45 p.m.) – Crews have called off the search for a plane that reportedly crashed in Bonneville County Thursday night. Officials say they will resume search efforts in the morning. Stay with EastIdahoNews.com for updates.

SWAN VALLEY – Multiple agencies are responding to a plane that reportedly crashed around 5:15 p.m. Thursday evening.

Officials are unclear exactly where the plane went down but believe it’s in Sheep Creek Canyon area.

Bonneville County Sheriff Sergeant Jeff Edwards says someone on the plan called for help and investigators are working off the cell phone tower location from where the call was placed.

Authorities don’t know how many people were on the plane and what type of plane was involved in the crash.

Bonneville County search and rescue teams, Idaho Falls ambulance, Air Idaho and other agencies are currently on scene or en route.
